How powerful would a NASA supercomputer be for gaming?

i suspect their cpu architecture, hard disks and what not are super advanced on a custom level, but their graphics capability is probably dinosaur in tech levels. After all when you are dealing with variables and course plotting and everything else, having a super fast computer able to calculate all those things in a moments notice is essential.

Isn't nasa computer, a computer attached to a computer, attached to another computer, then another computer, then a type writer, toaster and a VHS player.

I guess they could play pong in theory on the LHC.
Wouldn't even run Crysis.

A NASA computer can’t handle Minecraft trust me I’ve tried playing Minecraft on a nasa pc before the sad part is it can’t even get over 2 FPS. But it can see almost the entire galaxy that’s pretty backwards logic lol. The pc runs on 1 kb of WAM or ram

Idk about NASA but i wonder how powerful pc could be if companies like Nvidia, adm or intel and whatnot would release their absolute peak performance hardware and someone assembled pc with those parts. Top notch cooling as well.

We all know they dont release their best ♥♥♥♥ as they invent them. Afaik, AMD has some expensive as hell 80 core cpu's, but its not aimed for normal consumers, only very rich people or maybe some developers.

I wonder how powerful a pc would be if if intel amd and nvidia with their brain powers combined all worked on creating the beast pc it would be a very interesting time in history to look back on if all of those companies worked together but this is very very unlikely but yuum I can only imagine how much power that pc would have.

Helped out with Military and NASA.
Both used things up to 10 years old or were in the process of building or using new equipment, seems they have contractors build PCs for them now instead of just doing bulk orders, since they actually need stuff like multiple displays a for a lot of places now.

Just imagine a entry-to-medium level HP or Dell, with a GPU that wasn't less than 1GB; that's what they're using now.

Yeah. It would be very interesting to see how much higher scores it gets from tests, compared to highest end normal hardware you can buy from stores. Also, the price of the besst pc, lol.

Then it would be fun to watch if theres something it cant run at 4k and 60fps at the very least. Like the most insane, super modded game, with 20x SSAA, crazy viewdistance, 8k textures and photorealistic lightning. Then see comparison how well the "normal" highest end pc runs those same modded games.

It would be delicious to watch

correct me if i am wrong.

but super computers in general are build to deliver brute force (TFlop/s)
for example Seti with data processing

Game computers have absolute not that amount of TFlop/s but they have advanced instructions inside the CPU's and GPU's. without them anything even a super computer just cant run those pesky videogames.

Great at physics but terrible at graphics, and even for physics devs will take a long time to figure out how to make games for it because it's made differently to other machines they are used to. This is exactly what happened to the Cell when it was used in the PS3.

I'll pass and instead take the SpaceX model unfortunately. What NASA has come to, what a shame. Not their fault, let's fund space exploration again and look to the stars instead of Nuclear warheads.
