The genre has also become oversaturated, which in the long run is a bad thing for gamers since publishers and developers will try to ride on the band wagon in an attempt to make big cash. It can also lead to developers not making the most of their creativity and passion and as a result we end up getting too many unecessasry and mediocre clones which add little to nothing to the table.
Lastly it does get tiring to hear about something you don't care about all the time. I'm sure everyone knows this feeling and it's understandable why people would go out of their way to express their hatered.
I don't "hate" them. I just don't play them. Multiplayer isn't my thing, and PvP even less so.
But personally, to me; Battle royales lack an active learning experience. Everytime you start a new match it's from zero. And there's this finality to battle royale games that I dislike. Same reason why I hate roguelikes. Once you die that's it, game over, no second chances, no way to learn from your mistakes. That's why I really like games with respawns, because the game evolves during the match, as you learn and adapt to your enemies tactics and they learn and adapt to yours. The game morphs into something greater than itself during the round.
That’s right, I admit it. I’m a Battle Royale game.
I don't care how fast you can build a hotel in fortnite or how good your aim is in any battle royal game. Genre is just a glorified IO game.
Mods take notes & relay them to the Steam devs if possible thanks.
