i just dont get whats supposed to be fun about them , in minecraft hunger games you can atleast follow a tactic , first ignore the middle and go to the edge of the map , try to get enough equipment, avoid fighting others, if you see someone , quickly run another way , once you have enough gear to fight , slowly make your way back to the middle , kinda in sync with the border that gets smaller ,by then alot are already dead and you just need to fight a few more players , in most BR shooters , you are depending on finding stuff fast by jumping down at random spots i only played pubg a few times ) and sure its fun if you land in a place with 4 others ,melee one guy down , get melee killed by another who then gets shot by the one guy that found a gun but then its over and thats it , a funny random moment but nothing more , most of the time in BR you just run around , noticed this when playing pubg with a friend , we just sneaked around , maybe tried sniping other players but in the end most of the gameplay was running through an empty area , that never was the case in minecraft hunger games

same goes for team modes , there was a server that had a 4 team survival minigame called the bridges , you could mine and gear up for 10 minutes and then fight , staying underground and continue mining with a teammate was a strat that always worked , wait until one team died completely , and then when almost no one is left, have the enemy come to you , while you are fully in diamond armor , in mc you can have a tactic , thats just not the case in battle royal

you also cant get better like in rainbow six siege , there over time you get better, the only way you can get better or progress otherwise in BR is by simply knowing spots where you can get loot , where to jump down to have a better chance to survive but in the end its still boring , the fact its perma death doesnt make it better , when i die in a team match , it just is boring to sit there doing nothing , since you cant really help your partner like you can with cameras or drones in siege , you just sit there and wait

the biggest problem i have with these games really is how you cant just use weapons you are familar with , whenever i can i play with snipers or smgs , good tihng one is completely useless on far too big maps and the other can be hard to use with bullet drop off ( and you would need to find one in the first place

if i play a round of ARAM in league of legends , i know i can expect 15-30 minutes of fun , i cant have that with battle royal , as every game is a gamble if i will end on place 100 / 100 , or get to the top 10 , the fact i keep getting pushed towards a point on the map also makes it less skill and more luck dependend , in minecraft i know the final point is the spawn , just need to remember where it is and i wont have a problem getting there towards the end , in br games its random

i just really dont see the appeal of a game thats so heavily luck based , and also has perma death so the moment you die , its over , that can be fun for single player games but not for online ones
I dislike them because most of them are a matter of luck, as in who finds the good weapons first.

And also I hate the fact that this genre is permeating almost every well-known FPS franchise and I hope this fad shrivels and dies.
i don't hate them i just don't like pubg and fortnite
what do you mean everyone hates them I'm pretty sure that my 5 year old niece and 2 year old nephew aren't even aware of them.
1) They are stupid (Battle Royale tropes are really stupid and absolutely immersion breaking)

2) They are boring. People who liked online multiplayer already had deathmatches, what's the point of Battle Royale games anyway? What makes them different than an old deathmatch? Multiplayer games are already boring imo. Any kind of it is boring.. We don't need a new name for something that already existed and was already boring itself.

3) They are only online multiplayer games. Online multiplayer gaming sucks.
People don't hate the genre. They hate that they can't go two steps without getting pubg and fortnite shoved down their throat.
Because of the oversaturation of the sub-genre in newly released games.
I believe that battle royale would be a good gamemode, though I think the amount of players should be reduced. If there are 100 players that means the you win 1% of the time, which just isn't fun. Perhaps 4 groups of 4 would be good. Less players with better odds.

I just don't care for always online only multiplayer games. Made the mistake of getting one only to have the servers become void of all players. I consider that a waste of my money, and I don't want to have that happen again. Only exceptions to that are games that offer offline vs. bots as a standard feature.
People tend to hate things that are popular. Whether it deserves the hate is debatable.
Over saturation and over hype.
1. It brought braindeads into our gaming community.
2. Based on luck.
3. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ repititive, I get bored so quickly.
4. Battle Royale games are small af. They get recognition they don't deserve.
5. I can't stand how people hype that stuff up. I lose brain cells immediately.
