WoW only has 1.5 million active subscribers right now (with proof)

Back in 2010 during WotLK WoW had 12 million active subscribers but right now with Legion the population has fallen to less than 2 million. This is what happens when a good company join forces with a powerhungry and greedy company called Activision. Millions of people used to love WoW until MoP but with WoD and now with Legion blizzard has completely scattered and betrayed their loyal playerbase. Majority of the gamers nowadays don't play WoW anymore. This is ultimately good news for the online gaming industry because when WoW will finally die then other good games will rise and shine.

It's probably nothing to do with their business practices or anything like that. Games like that are red hot for a while but then people simply move on to something else.

Well, it does if you consider that the OP is probably trying to grab players from other Steam-based MMO's in a desperate (and probably futile) attempt to prevent his own favourite MMO from dropping dead...

Your thread simply makes no sense. I believe your facts, but not your reasoning. It´s just an opinion. Nobody betrayed anyone, their playerbase was never loyal (aside from their fans) and Activision is just a company like any other.

And what does this has to do with the Steam community anyway. It´s just stupid.

1.5 million for a 13 year old MMO are stellar numbers. It means Activision-Blizzard is doing it right.
