I pronounce it like "gift" without the "T". Why? Because in Russian language our equivalent of G is Г, which is pronounced with a hard sound like that. Our closest equivalent of J sound is Ж, which is more like "zh". So when I see a word that starts with G, I just want to pronounce it that way.

The word “gift” is the closest word to GIF, and it has a hard G. To pronounce GIF, just say “gift” without the “t”.

It is NOT "JIF", with a soft "g". That is a peanut butter company.
