Wilhelm scream
Wilhelm scream is a sound effect that has been used in many moives since 1963. It's the sound of a guy that gets killed; scream of death. I came across this on facebook other night and recognized it right away.

At first I couldn't pinpoint it until I watched wihelm scream compilation on youtube and thought bloody hell its been used from cowboy movies to Indy jones and starwars movie and many move. It has got to be some kind of joke or easter egg in the movie industry because the same scream is used time and time again.

First this is the sound of the scream...

This is the compilation of movies that have used this scream (might you the video is 12 years old), guess many movies have used it since.

Maybe it was recorded either in 1951 or 1953 but first used in 1963, as the OP stated.

I think I had enough of that scream in the late 90's, now a days I just lose whatever immersion I had in the movie whenever I hear that scream. yeah, I don't like it. :(
