You jump to assumptions quick huh?
Anime is an English term too. You could say "Animation" but I personally like shorthand due to being lazy.
"Cartoon" has been replaced thanks to computers doing "Animation"... not another race or culture.
Cartoons aren't created via the computer...

This is a cartoon (notice the hand-drawn lines of the characters), it's done frame-by-frame.
It becomes an invalid term when applying computer technology to it... and that's where the correct term animation should be used instead. Which is what I've been repeatively trying to explain to you guys.
