A cartoon originally would be drawn frame-by-frame on transparent plastic by a cartoonist, where as Anime could be done on a computer or paper by an animator. The term "cartoon" shouldn't even be used these days and isn't actually valid to use anymore, we just still do it for the sake of the kids back in the old days.
You sir are the mistaken one... yes, logically Family Guy, Rick and Morty, and South Park would be animation (anime), not a cartoon. They aren't even created like cartoons, nor are they meant for kids. The closest is only South Park which original had the characters cut out from paper to design the creators, hense how the style appears (but even that is now on computer).
Cartoon (translated from Italian "cartone" or Dutch "karton") is a word describing strong, heavy paper or pasteboard, hense where that word originally came from and what a cartoonist use to do (doesn't exist anymore).
South Park turned from cartoon to anime (just keeping that same appearance).
It's actually quite a backwards topic.
Anime just meaning animation, where as...
Weeaboo is a slang term for a Western person who is obsessed with Japanese culture.
Hense, he's merely insulting the Western side for getting something completely wrong. Being a Western person, I however won't let bias stand in the way to correct our own silly mistake.
"The word anime is the Japanese term for animation, which means all forms of animated media. Outside Japan, anime refers specifically to animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastical themes."

In English, animation means the same thing... hand drawn or computer generated movement of images. The word ironically doesn't relate to the style type at all.
Rather you are just insulting the correct term over an invalid one which shouldn't exist.
