Have there been any cases of the Japanese dub of an anime being garbage, while the English dub is really good?

I know the age old proverb of "Subs over dubs" but have there been cases of dubs being better than subs?

Out of all the dubs I've heard there is only one that I find to be just okay.

It's on par with the Japanese version because it's a joke anime.

As for all others, well, all the English actors I've heard are like B rated where as all the Japanese ones are A rated. There is a clear difference in quality on the voice acting.

It's fun seeing people list Dragonball when in fact dragonball has some horrible voice actors. Even like 500+ episodes in. You'd think they would get better.

The female voices in dubs are usually really poor. There’s a difference between a naturally high-pitched and “squeaky” voice and an alto trying to make her voice sound higher and softer.

While not exactly what you’re asking for, Ghost Stories is a lot better in the dub, not because it’s good, but because it’s essentially an officially licensed abridged series. It’s pretty damn funny.

I think Black Lagoon was way better in Dubbed than Subbed. Also Panty and Stocking as well.

i must say , i watched an english dub clip of klk and i was surprised how good it was, i would say for that anime jp and english are on par

but english (or by extension german) dub being better than jp , its just hard
