I'm in the same boat in all honesty, only the reason I don't fight has more to do with me not knowing much about music in the first place, so I just listen to what I think sounds good. There's more than enough metal for me to enjoy without worrying about other genres and fans.

There are some subgenres I don't like as well but I won't brag and tarnish them. I just respectfully say that I don't like, as every Metal fan should. I think ultimately Metal is just perfect and it's evolving throughout more subgenres and fusions.

I wouldn't judge someone for their taste (like I said I'm not an elitist and I listen from Nu Metal bands to Death Metal bands). It just depends on the artists at hand and in what way they're labeled that they don't give their specific genre/s or subgenre/s they're labeled in to give a bad name.
