Is an airsoft gun classified as an airgun?

My town stated that it is illegal to discharge an airgun or air pistol. Is airsoft considered an airgun?

Also, I don't think there's a gun license for an airsoft, but I could get a real gun license

A gun license should cover an airosoft, if not (cause ricochet and all), do some research. since youre in murica`, it shouldnt take any longer than an hour.

Also sorry for late response, I was trying to get Tor working so I wasnt directed to Australian laws for searching the law you`d said.

A little tip. Don't take the orange guard off the tip of the gun or cops might think it's real.

It’s fine as long as you stay discreet and aren’t stupid. In my city, I can’t discharge air rifles too, but sometimes I responsibly use mine when I have assessed my surroundings, and it seems safe.

Depends on where you live as far as I know. Go to a police station and ask, or google for laws regarding airsoft guns where you live.

I`m saying minors have the ability to use weaponary, so it`s best to keep it at a limit. Probably something else you were looking for but you`re a bit unclear, no offense.

And please explain what the rooster / chicken thing is -- if its saying that if (small)x can`t do Y, then (big)X can`t do Y either. If that is so, then that isn`t really true. Take this: You hate veggies when young, but at 40, you begin to love em. Applies to guns and all aswell.

if you could post the exact law, it would help. Some may have muzzle velocity clauses, or laws against replica airsoft guns.

A blanket Air-gun ban would technically cover nerf guns and water pistols.
