Is an airsoft gun classified as an airgun?

My town stated that it is illegal to discharge an airgun or air pistol. Is airsoft considered an airgun?

not sure what discharge means (and yes i spent atleast 5 seconds gooling it); but since airguns shoot a prokectile via force (although not lethal), and airsoft does this too, so yes; I do think both would then be considered illegal

you would probably be able to get permission if over 18; otherwise try doing so in your backyard?
if both listed options arent possible, then you can`t really do much coz if you did it in, say, a jungle, itl`d still be considered ilegal and yould probably get fined if caught / heard.

It is unlawful for any person or persons to discharge or fire at any time, any cannon, shotgun, rifle, pistol, air rifle, air pistol of any description, bow and arrow, cross-bow or pointed arrow within the corporate limits of the village, except within a licensed shooting gallery or a shooting gallery approved by the chief of police of the village of (my village), provided, however, such approval shall be given if the gallery has proper visibility and that there is no danger of ricochet and it is conducted in an enclosed area.

Means that an airgun meaning a bb gun that shoots .177 cal bb's. You can not fire a bb gun no matter co2 or pump within city limits is what your towns law means. If you go out in the woods and out of the city limits then you can fire your airgun/bb gun. Airsoft should be fine as long as you are not breaking peoples windows. Yes i know they use plastic balls, but it could be possible.

welp as the law states, its pretty much alright but only with profesional approval. ild wait a week or so after its been said and search how to get a gun licnese, how to use _ legally, etc.
shouldn`t be all too hard to continue your hobbie. good luck!
