Words In Your Language

I wonder if anything has happened because of the similarity of hunt and marry in your language...
It doesn't help that the words are phonetically identical. The Ç in the first example is pronounced as an S and in the second example the S is pronounced like a Z.

I usually say that instead of “Mahal kita” (I love you).

It’s in Tagalog by the way.

Yes, but it has to do with how you have to “bend” words (I’m tired I can’t be bothered to look up if that’s correct or if there is a better English equivalent). “Gift” is also literally “married”. If it was “marry” it would be “gifta”.
