OP give it time, it happens sometimes, but gets fixed after a lil while.. :winter2019happyyul:
So does Chrome push more ads at you? Is that what people are saying about switching to a different browser? I'm currently using Edge and I guess it's okay. It uses less memory than Chrome. But should I really use FireFox?

Haven't seen a single ad with the current setup I have. Along with a couple of other extensions so I won't be tracked.
Mine is working fine.

Only time I see ads is when I'm on the youtube app on my phone. The amount of ads on that stupid app more than makes up for using adblock on my pc.

I keep seeing people talk about that. I should look at it again.

Can you two stop derailing this please? This is about AdBlocking on YouTube, not UBI.

Have you ever had to work for anything, ever needed to earn money to survive? If you want to be spoiled and lazy, fine, but don't act like you're doing the right thing by denying a content creator money because you won't either give them something directly or sit through ads.
The person who started all this by saying we should subsidize their lifestyle for them had the money to by an NVIDIA GeForce Titan- the most expensive graphics card on the market. Last I checked it was about $1500 or more for that part alone. No one who splurges on that is hurting for money or should be begging for more-that’s a person who’s gotten greedy and accustomed to a certain lifestyle.

It’s no different between someone who does that and someone who marries someone for their money and wants to take half that money after a divorce merely because they’ve become accustomed to a certain lifestyle.
RTX Titan - $2,500, a rather poor choice overall for a part especially with what is being claimed it's used for. Some people just want the biggest flagship part, little do they know that unit costs barely anything to produce compared to the sale price as well. Then, they usually put too much of a load on the unit such as a high resolution and hz rate, damaging the gains they would otherwise have free GPU processing available. Not to mention most worth while software is capable of selecting a GPU, so if one was a content creator they could easily use a primary GPU for display and normal use, and a secondary but still full PCIE speed lane for a powerful unit that will do the supposed task they claim it's for by selecting it in the software, rather than wasting a chunk of it at all times.

You mean that monetisation isn't good for your paycheck, the community part is just window dressing.

If a street artist is doing his thing, people have the choice to watch it and walk away, or watch it and give them some money. Content creators on Youtube are the same in that regard.

I'm not obliged to provide content creators with income when I don't want to. If you want to make sure that you get money, use a paid model. If you don't, then you open yourself up to not be given money. Like a street artist.
Well stated, and a good example of what a youtuber really is.

Thanks for describing my thoughts. I rarely use an Adblock for youtube only using it when the creator is total jackass.
This is yet another reason why I love adblock. No creator is going to make demands of me, let alone en-masse, without it blowing back and leading to demonitization. Isn't it lovely when some no-name creator comes along, hijacks a thread, and demands things be mandatory to how they want it to be? uBlock serves such a great purpose, in an era that should be as ad-free as possible, ads are so 90's it's not even funny.

Now yer' going off topic. I absolutely use the power of the TITAN RTX as I run machine learning apps and games based on OpenAI's GPT-3 model. An RTX 2080 Ti would immediately output out of memory exception.

Bhahahaha. Another "Machine learning app user" What a joke. You probably couldn't even do machine learning or at least have some level of understanding behind the simultaneous equations. Let me let you in on a little secret "machine learning" is glorified bruteforce problem solving there is nothing even remotely elegant about it and the algorithms have existed since the 1970's

Oh my lord someone with a brain rejoice!

uBlock is only part of my Adblocking arsenal I use Pihole at the network level to intercept a lot of tracking cookies. My pihole has blocked already 60,000+ DNS telemetary queries even microsoft ones for MS telemetry can't get through.

PS: I wish all these "pseudo" machine learning "researchers" would please disappear.

No

My sentiment exactly. I aggressively abhor ads.
YouTube cant' even do ads correctly. Putting up known scams, 90 minute channel videos, etc.
It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much of the time.
I'm fine with supporting my favorite channels but I have my limits.

Yeah youtubes become a cesspit. To be honest every Youtuber would go broke over night if youtube crashed for a Month maybe less.

AdBlock is only marginally good at what it does. uBlock Origin is much better!

Some antiviruses are very good at it too. The AV I use provides an adblocker for youtube that replaces videos with a skip button.
