Why is SteelSeries bad?

My friends keep saying their products are flimsy and overpriced but I've a keyboard from them and it's been about 4 months since I've had it.. no issues.
He got mad when I ordered the Rival 600, he claims the Corsair M65 Pro is superior.

My experience with their keyboards (the keycaps, in particular) wasn't very good, but the Rival 500 mouse is absolutely stellar, especially for the price.

As with many things, it's not black and white. For example, with Corsair, I like their keyboard and mice, but their headsets aren't impressive.

wel this comments is late af. but my experience with the steelseries rival 310 mouse isn't that great. after using it for not even a year it just stopped working. i havent smashed or hit my mouse either so im probs never gonna buy a steelseries mouse again.

Got the Steelseries Sensei ambidextrous mouse 2 years now. Still works even without a mousepad.

After posting my last message, I put my mousepad with my man's computer. It's already peeling at the edges.

Not sure if it's a usage problem or a product problem now.

i think things like mouse maths are very different products than tech. so ofc the quality varies.

i have a arctis 3. it's a good strong headphone but the audio quality isn't that good. not that i can hear that. it's fine for me.

the mouse is nice too. rival 100. 30 bucks. maybe cheaper now. still works. got that thing for like.. 2 years. maybe longer.

i have had issues in the past with the steelseries software. but since i don't have a msi laptop it's fine.

f msi. my laptop melted my water bottle and then broke down.. while turned off.
now i have a lenovo l340 gaming. that thing underclocks by default. like a gaming laptop should.
i want to use my laptop for a long time. if i want warm hands i'll put on gloves. i'm not a pyromaniac that melts equipment for a tiny bump in fps.
