I guess it applies to all languages. learning one is hard, and your brain focuses on your first language like it's the basic language

No, I think english is a pretty unique language.

It doesn't compare to any other language imo.. not like italian, spanish and french... which sound somewhat similar.

Both languages sound harsh to me. But I can clearly tell the difference between German and English, maybe because I watched a lot of English movies since a young age.

Modern English is such a hodge-podge of other languages I cannot really think of anything to compare it too.

I speak both and they don't sound the same at all.

German sounds more orderly and elegant I think, because the pronunciation is clearer and often less voiced than in English. But it's also harder in comparison because of the hard ch-sound and hardened consonants. English is a lot more blurgh-blarghy, I think.

Driving around Germany a lot. It's a bloody country-sized construction site.

Munich and Stuttgart are especially bad with congestion.
