Is it right or wrong to celebrate the 4th of July?
Sorry if there is already a topic like this, my computer crashed well at the time of publishing.

It's just out of curiosity!
Hello, first I would like to clarify that English is not my native language, so I am directly using Google translator and after Grammarly to fix my mistakes.

Let's say that in the following hypothetical scenario it happens:
To non-Americans (people from the United States of America), what would you think if the president of your country celebrated the 4th of July, which is independence day in the united states?

Celebrate in his decorated house, with typical decorations of American Independence Day.

A party, however small, with friends in a pandemic season, with miniatures of the American flag drawn on the table, probably in some corner where no photos were taken, there was a flag hanging on the wall.

And, who knows? at some point until I sang a part of the American anthem.

And a question to Americans, what would you think or even feel if President Donald Trump did that with, say, the day of independence from Italy or France? or any other country that seems to suit that example for you.
(Remembering that for the example it does not have to be a country that has good or excellent relationships, just any country that is not very involved.)

Bastille day is hot lava flames. I wouldn't care if Trump celebrated it. I loved celebrating it when I was in France and I'm not even French. I was admiring their patriotism.

Lafayette Day should be a national celebration in the US.

It should be, after all he helped the Americans gain their freedom from the British even though he had nothing to gain from it being of another nation and in their military. America may not of gotten as far as it had without French assistance, that is often overlooked in historical facts. it should be better recognised that America is just as reliant on its allies as they are on America as well.

No one remembers the Battle of the Capes? That was a critical battle that broke the back of British resistance at the time. Frankly de Grasse should also be recognised as well for that action on behalf of the new American nation.

I don't celebrate any festivities since that would mean social interactions

Trump is celebrating it, so going with past experience, it must be wrong.

Or "right", in that other meaning of the word.

All americans should be proud of that day, its of course the day the nation was born. Any american who burns the US flag should be stripped of US citzenship and send off to live in a 3rd world nation.

Yeah

I know my opinion will be unpopular with many but end of the day, tens of millions of you americans as well as my british people fought for freedoms and many never came home and it really upsets me to see youth of today split on their graves, burn our flags, call them enemies and all kind of crap while they enjoy the freedom to burn the flag and have freedom to say crap.

Ýou have the right to celebrate 4th July, like I have the right to Celebrate Kingsday. If people come up with allweird ecuses like slavery, blablabla, history is bad, people are bad.. Well, then I just want equal-stuff. No kwakoe, no chanoeka, n christmas, no 1 May, no ramadan. Just nothing to celebrate. Cause everthing is offensive to everybody.

That's why I say depot them all to a 3rd world nation or dump them in north korea. Anyone bought up in a free western nation hasn't a clue what its like being oppressed and denied your rights as a human being.

People of hong kong have been protesting for a year now and now have lost that fight and lost their freedoms to boot. Here in the west we are fighting to give up our freedoms, what gives..

Sounds like something straight ot of Stalin's textbook.

As for celebrating 4th of july, sure, go ahead if you have a reason to. Just keep if safe, sane, and fun, like any other party.

The fourth has lost its meaning. I mean most americans dont know what the 4th of July stands for. All they know is shooting off fireworks and getting drunk. Americans already do this with holidays. Take for example Dia De Las Muertes(i butchered it my bad). Most americans use this day as an excuse to drink heavily and paint skulls on their faces. Very few know of its Christian origins.
