Made a refund request a few days ago.
My first one. Because I had reasoned that I didn't like the game in question so much at first glance I wanted a refund and so I asked for it but that was not the main reason for me requesting a refund, see: it was but partially so and if the circumstance was any different, ea me not wanting impulsively something else then that which I already had I wouldn't have requested a refund but in the meanwhile I had set my sights on another game that I saw, one that I happen to like more and had thus figured that if I refunded the game that I didn't like so much I could get that one in turn but,

In the meanwhile as I was waiting on my refund I had watched a YouTube video about this game I refunded and I had a sudden change of heart about the refund itself. Change of mind came later into the video with the later gameplay of the game which showed that the game wasn't what I had assumed of it. I had like a few days to ponder on my request and I somehow changed my mind just in time not to be able to react on it completely in time to cancel it and so as soon as I was to cancel my Steam support request I saw that it had been accepted and that my money is on its way back.

Now the problem with my reasoning at the time that I had made my cancel-request, also due to me expecting it to be real quick (which it wasn't, because this process took a few days and rightfully so) was that my decision had a flaw in logic where I simply didn't look far enough ahead to conclude that I could wait until the next month and buy the game I that I wanted then because the Steam sales extends for a while whilst I then would keep the game that I didn't like so much anyway. I like to collect games but also I had due to my impulsiveness made a misjudgment regarding it.

Now that I realized that I can buy the game I liked more later I somehow feel sorry or bad about making the request. Especially considering that I like the game that I cancelled basically (from an instinctive standpoint, I knew this before I had bought it, knew that I wanted it) and that I'm going to buy it again next week since I also feel a bit bad about refunding it in the first place but as I noted expecting that the refund would happen faster and sort of satiate me urges or more specifically wants or in a far away sense, needless to say I feel real clumsy in this regard. On one hand I'm happy because my request was taken seriously but on the other hand I'm a bit confused. Clumsy, confused and 7 Euro's 'richer' and a (decent) game poorer that is.

Non the wiser.

I also feel bad because I had wasted someone's time in sort of using a process to no real result but just what seems at first glance abuse or real clumsiness of someone not knowing what they are doing (ignorance), I however do not feel like I am a part of the ''cancel-culture'' necessarily though as I said it was my first refund request but one that I just simply realized I could have bypassed if I was more patient.

What do you want, a bang? Like a surprise cake and then a strip model jumping out of it?

Let me brake it to you, life events are anticlimactic at times so you do with what you can and have, ah well. It's about sentimental or even subjective value at times's all I'm saying.

So what's the question?

Consumer Guarantees Act suggests if a product isn't working or is as described, you can request a full refund, repair or replacement.

For a video game, it would be something like not compatible with your hardware or an error occurs when attempting to run it, etc.

Given that Steam works slightly different than that, but it's a similar concept. Within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime.

Abusing the refund system for just change of heart isn't ideal. However, you only did it once. Now if you kept doing that, you might end up not being accepted for a refund. Yet your history is clear at the moment. So just don't repeat it. Live and learn.

There's no question, the observation could be that I'm simply f**** around which I am not. I am simply going through a process, went through it and now I am done with it and my mind's clear.

I am just you know *insert human emotion here*, sorry about the ordeal which made me seem like incompetent because I'm going to get the game right back again :s

I created a paradox man, to me it doesn't get more exciting than that... in a sense wasn't it that the whole 'experiment' or act was just stupid.

One exception to the Steam Refund rule is: We do NOT consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price. So they are actually quite ok with someone refunding and then repurchasing the same game again.

Woow. That makes this kind of an exception to the rule that in a sense it doesn't matter what I did... or didn't.

Thanks for the comment though.

its really not that bad, if you was unsure about the game at first.

would you prefer to get 2 hours of playtime on it and then decide you dont like it making refund impossible?

if you ever have any doubts on a game refunding is perfectly fine, maybe next time you are interested in a game look at it more before buying so you can see all the game has to offer.

I cheated on the game in a sense because I wanted another one that I liked more.

Sorry if that sounds weird just tried to put it into words :P
