How many feel the MP5 while great is and has been grossly overrated?

It's not like there are many solid options when it comes to the 9mm SMGs but can we agree very little competition has been keeping the MP5 on top?

I think it lacks the competition, all right. However, with the new SIG MPX around, I'd wager the H&K MP5 now has proper competition.

That's a variant of the Colt 9mm SMG, the ONLY REAL Comp H&K had. Many Police Departments and agencies actually used the COLT brand 9mm SMG with 20 round magazines, not the 32. Why? Becausse the 32 got in the way, they rarely used full auto anyway. IF you new how to work on and modify or repair an AR series you knew a colt SMG too. ALSO the amount of accessories for the AR platform were and still are O_O compared to the MP5's limited selection. Also parts, mods and the COLT 9mm SMG all were much much less than the MP5, MORE cost effective.

Looks like Sig is just taking the Colt 9mm to the next level by hybriding it with custom furniture to make the Colt 9mm more look feel and handle like an MP5 while still operating and performing like the Colt 9mm.

Here, this is a great SMG too. I've seen far more of these than MP5s within the states.

Why isn't the AR 9mm SMG in any of these games? I say that's H&K rolling hard on advertising, you see the MP5 EVERYWHERE in movies and games.

I always felt the AR 9mm was an ugly contraption but while shouldering it, shooting it or just using it looks never matter.

With csgo out the picture and you asked that? never. in the UK we don't have weapons in the hands of civilians and even a broken bottle can be classified as a weapon and see you locked away. :P

I find that the MP5 is a pretty fitting weapon for something like law enforcement. It's not too small, to the point where the police officer holding it doesn't get taken seriously, and it's not too large, to the point where it's cumbersome and unnecessary.

I do have a bit of a soft spot for the MP5. Whenever I visited the airport (when that was a thing you could still do), I always found it cool to see two soldiers patrolling with SAR-21s accompanied with a policeman with an MP5.

We have one of the world's most respected gun manufacturers right in the heart of London. You can buy a .70 calibre elephant rifle there.

well i'm going to just end it there to keep this from going off the rails. i'm sure you have a lot more on the matter but it isn't relevant to the mp5 discussion.

What you have is all you could ever need or want. They lifted magazine restriction here 15 years ago in most states because it doesn't mater.

Soon after we were allowed to have double stack without paperwork it wasn't long until we were loading 10 round in the 15-18 round pistol magazines. Why? Easier quicker and don't need that many. I mean for target and protection and general sporting. The Single Stack 1911 is the best auto pistol anyway.

As for rifles, the 10 round magazines are nice and short and it wasn't long until we didn't feel like fully loading them anyway.

As for shotguns, you don't really need a tube that holds more than 4 shells.

Out of all of the guns we can have here with all of the capacity options I still prefer a manual or auto action shotgun with a 4 or 5 shot tube.

WHY DID they ban high cap long ago? To promote sales of low cap to get rid of SURPLUS! AND it drove up the price of pre ban magazines. If they were made BEFORE the ban you could buy and own them therefore you could still get pre ban magazines, BUT they COST a fortune.

DID lifting or raising the ban increase or decrease the destruction of gun related crimes? NO! Had NOTHING to do with that anyway, ALL BS because if they were to say we want to restrict THESE sales to increase those sales would that of drawn support for a ban? Not likely.
