Creating server WITHOUT router
so my internet situation is a bit sketchy, but im tethering my mobile data via usb to my laptop and im trying to create a minecraft server, but i cannot port forward becuase i am litterally not using a router. if someone could help me find a work around or point me to alternatives to create a server it would be much appreciated.

I can't tell if this is trolling or serious.

Have you tried restarting your computer? It usually works for me!

This may be my solution, but i am concerned becuase i have no control over my NAT type and cannot configure UPnP since i am using a mobile data connection, and the ability to configure those options is out of my control and is on the service provider side of things

....that just sounds like a bad way to rack up a data bill depending on your service, What exactly about your internet is sketchy?

i am using a unlimited plan, theres no worries there, but im just using an unsopported tethering method by my provider via PDANet. Traditionally i would be using mobile hotspot data, but instead im directly tethering my mobile data to my laptop

In that case you probably will have your connection throttled at some point, as bigger companies tend not to like users that do this.

Also you didn't answer my question.

ive been using this method for a year now with no problems. just recently ive wanted to create a server but have found it difficult to do that without using a router

Ive been using this method for a year, im not going to continue explaining this. i simply want to know ways around portforwarding traditionally, as i am unable to do that
