Is online games dying? (For me they are.)

I've been playing alot of PvP and PvE online games, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but now I just can't enjoy them anymore.

First it was Overwatch, and the game is toxic af, and even though it is fun sometimes to get loot boxes, and unlock new skins, the game is rather repetitive and kinda boring, also now I do so bad that I can't win a single match (or I get into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ team that throws.)

Second was Elder Scrolls Online (which i'm still trying to play.) and enjoy, but it has way too many limitations for me to enjoy it, even though I love Elder scrolls, the game doesn't let me do everything that I wanna enjoy with the game.

third was VrCHAT, and we all know how it is, it's boring, you can't do ♥♥♥♥, and yeah..

Fourth was Fortnite, the game could have been better, but it's too repetetive, people are tryharding, and its probably gonna die out next year.

I've tried blade and soul, black desert online, Garry's Mod, APB reloaded, Minecraft, Gta, FiveM, etc, and all of them has been so boring, and people in it usually ruins it aswell.

I just hope that online games gets better in the future, cause all I'm seeing is that it's going to die, and we gonna end up having the same online games that we got now.

Companies like EA, Activision etc. are embracing the games as a service model... which is not bad but in doing so they are completely ignoring the single player market. I dunno...
I lost my spirit for co-op and competitive not that long ago, that leaves me with PvE oriented stuff, yet I can't find anything I like for some reason.

In all seriousness, I agree with you. Saying that VR is the "standard" in gaming today is absurd. I have an Oculus, and though I love it and I think VR is a nice asset in gaming, everyone isn't going to have the extra $400 laying around. Plus most people may not have the needed PC requirements to handle VR.

I know, the DLC thingy was a joke saying that you would need the DLC for doing vr related stuff.

At the current moment in time...

I'd say that online games are dying given that everyone is doing battle royale stuff now and no one is unique in what they're doing.

Most people only play Multiplayer and steams most played games are all multilpayer so how can it be dying? I think you just realized that you don't enjoy them anymore.

Out of 3 asian themed F2P games I used to play as a teenager, my first seems kinda outdated and probably still has that mild case of Pay 2 Win (still seems popular in my coutry), second is dying, but was merely inferior clone of the 3rd, 3rd one is still being updated, but the economy is kinda ruined and game has severe scam and bot issues.

Has a good story, probably best if played like a singleplayer game where you just ignore all other players though. During my time playing the community was like a turd that had been sitting in the sun for a long time.

And that's saying something for someone who has played World of Warcraft and had a better experience with that community of mostly eleven year olds.
