just now, my friend gifted me some dead by daylight DLC. he would have also gifted me the base game, but steam wouldn't let him, as it said i already have the game. at this point, i had clicked the "play now"button on the dead by daylight store page, and it said that it is free to play, offer ending in two days. steam is recognizing that i have the base game, but at the same time i don't think it is, as when i try to accept the dlc gift, steam is saying insufficient privilege. is this because i don't have the base game installed? or is it a different problem entirely??? please help ASAP
Remove permanently the DLC from your account and then go buy the base game and then the dlc again
Do you have the base game?
You buy GTA:V ON Steam to be able to accept the DLC for it.
Very simply:
To gift DLC the recipient must have a license the base title activated to their account.
licenses shared via Library share are insufficient for this purpose.
Solutions & WOrkarounds:
1) Forego the gifting
2) Gift a copy of the base product first, then the DLC
3) Wait until recipient has acquired license to base game on their own accord before gifting DLC
A friend just bought me an entire bundle. Dont starve together + all the dlcs, so yeah I coud accept the base game and it is my libary, yet the dlcs that came within the same bundle give me the insullficent privilege error. ???
Does not make any sense
