those games which are Epic exclusives are dead to me anyway, so I don't really care any more.
Yeah, but it is the WORST for Microsoft and Xbox.
Almost all of those so-called "exclusives" on Xbox are also on Windows... which makes them FAKE exclusives.
And then, Xbox has had a lot of "exclusives" that would later turn out to be only "time" exclusives = another form of FAKE exclusives.
Microsoft used to not want to tell consumers that its Xbox "exclusives" are really just FAKE exclusives, but it has happened so many times and so often that nowadays I KNOW all the so-called "exclusives" on Xbox are really just console and time exclusives = FAKE exclusives.
Nintendo has REAL exclusives.
Sony does not have as many as Nintendo does for Playstation, but still a lot of REAL exclusives that never gets ported to PC or another platform.
And, just as people say: "Xbox has NO exclusives," which really means it has NO or very few "real" exclusives. Not sure why Xbox fans get so angry and defensive when people say it, because it it is true.
But are those so-called "exclusives" on Epic permanent and real? Or are they just temporary and time exclusives = FAKE exclusives?
Not really. Exclusives are the ONLY reason to buy a console.
Back in 2008 or 2009, I bought an Xbox 360 back in 2009 to play Mass Effect, which was advertised as an "exclusive" for Xbox. Of course, back then people had not yet learned about Microsoft's dirty trick of LYING about exclusives. When Mass Effect came out on the PC, I was ticked off. I would have NEVER bought an Xbox if I had known Mass Effect would come to the PC. I would rather have waited and bought it for the PC.
Then, over the next few years, it happened again and again: Microsoft lied about a title being an "exclusive"... and then it turned out to be a FAKE exclusive. Then people finally realize Microsoft cannot be trusted on "exclusives".
So, two years ago, I bought a PS5 (my first Playstation) to play Horizon: Zero Dawn. For a long time, I also had wanted to play the Uncharted series, the Last of Us, God of War with son, and Spider-man. However, the ONE exclusive that finally convinced me to buy a Playstation was Horizon: Zero Dawn. At the time, Sony had a good track record on "exclusives": first-party Playstation exclusives are REAL exclusives that had never been ported to the PC. So yeah, I spent/invested the money into a console, and I EXPECT it to be a money well-spent, and for the all those Sony's first-party exclusives to STAY exclusives.
Then, I read the rumor of Horizon: Zero Dawn might be ported to the PC. A Sony's FIRST-PARTY exclusive might be ported to the PC. At this point, it is still a rumor. Now, if it really gets ported to the PC, I am gonna be TICKED OFF. And I will NEVER buy another Playstation again. What is the point of owning a Playstation if Sony goes the Microsoft's lying route and its exclusives are also fake? On the other hand, IF the Horizon series stays as Playstation exclusives, then PS5 will have my business.
That is how it works.
Not the -only- reason...
There is no system that does stereoscopic 3D like the New 3DS does right now.
None of them are even trying, including Nintendo's current system.
Also, as far as mobile goes, the 3DS is typically a better experience than what's available on mobile phones. (No, I don't count the Switch because it's too big to reasonably fit your pockets, imo.)
Plus it's really convenient to just be able to pop some old DSes in a bag and play something like Kirby Superstar Ultra with a friend at lunch or after work.
It bugs me immensely that they never gave us a legit way to purchase even a premium model system that would let us play... ANY of the items in the DS & 3DS library on a big screen.
