Personally, I think left handed people should stick with their strength and play keyboard and mouse the way they were meant to play. The only thing they need to get used to is probably a controller (unless they buy a left handed controller) and typing but I mean come on, it's typing.
When you play a game with WSAD as a right hander, it's actually requiring you to use your left hand fingers, but you got used to it.
When you first started typing you can't find any of the keys and you start off with 1 by 1 key press.
You also can't draw anything with your mouse or point on the right things on day 1, but you develop a new sense over the years and is now a headshot machine.
Left or right handed, any PC configuration or software requires training and time to master. So I think it's best for left handed players to follow the majority and not needing to customize anything.
You can write with your left hand, but you still do it left-to-right, which means you're pushing the pencil instead of pulling it, meaning more pencil lead breakages and paper tears. Also means smearing your writing with your hand and wearing it on your hand.
You can use a left-handed mouse, but not if you ever have to use a shared computer.
The only advantage a Southpaw has is if you're storming a medieval castle, since their spiral staircases were designed so that a right-handed attacker would have to swing around the pillar while a right-handed defender wouldn't.
You can change the bindings from WASD to NUMPAD, or you could use WASD keys with your right hand.
