Understanding weeb?
I don't get this term, i've seen it used but it says it's several things like you have to like anime or just like japanese culture so if you just like medieval japanese culture and samurai does that make you a weeb or weebo?

I think "Weeb" Is the average stero type for a "nerd" or a skinny/weak teenager. And Weebo is someone who REALLY is obsesed with anime and other stuff like it. But Thats from my experience.

Ok thanks, i see people use it on profiles to describe themselves a fair bit.

It refers to a person who's obsessed with Japanese culture and considers it superior to all others. It's pretty much become a meaningless buzzword at this point though.

99% of the people who get called weebs are just dudes who don't even like Japanese culture all that much but watch anime and/or play JRPGs.

so wouldn't consider myself a weeb them, samurai are amazing and really enjoy their history but find modern Japan kind of weird and not really into it.

An weeb is basicly a-non japanese person who lacks information about Japan but think they know everything about Japan. They might even claim Japanese culture is better then their own culture.
They might try to speak Japanese and most likley realy suck at speaking Japanese. An weeb is often considered to be obsessed by anime.

Just keep in mind that someone who likes anime, is intrested in Japanese culture or is considering to move to Japan IS NOT attoumaticly a weeb.
Weebs often are often rude to their own culture and will praise Japanese culture without knowing much.

But considering the term is being so often mis-used it basicly has little no meaning.

My definition of weebs/weeabos are non-Japanese people who are simply fascinated in Japanese culture. Mostly anime stuff. Pretty much your typical fandom.

I'm not sure if there's actually a difference between the two terms "weebs" and "weeaboos".

if you have european origins and still prefer some oriental to european medieval history, you are still a weeb

And then there's also Wehraboos and Russophiles, which are basically the samething but tied to Germany and Russia respectively.

weebs are people who watch anime and think they know everything about japanese culture as a result. they dont accept any actual criticism of japan's culture and usually have ♥♥♥♥ taste in anime. liking japanese culture or anime does not make you a weeb. as a side note, anyone who calls themselves a weeb isn't one

Dunno man, I've seen some people who definitely are weebs but wear the weeb mark with pride

Yeah, but it happens. I hate it when they use 'otaku' like it's a good thing as well.
