How hardcore is/was your schools website block list?

I'm happy to say that my school has a pretty lenient block list, only banning popular game sites, YouTube, and inappropriate/illegal content. However, when I was in Middle School they didn't block anything until 8th grade when they started using a program to auto block sites. It went WAY overboard and blocked things like Google and the school's website. For most of the year, you couldn't really be asked to do any research or anything because you couldn't access anything.

You had to make sure some classes were near your locker, or that the fastest way to get to some of them was to go by your locker. And you had to have the combination thoroughly memorized and be able to turn the dial super fast. And then just carry only the books you need until you stop off at your locker.

I tried using my locker a few times and always wound up late to class ;_; After a while I just gave up and started going straight to class. I'd get there about 5 minutes early, 30 minutes if I managed to sneak into the school at the start of the day and sit in the quiet classroom~

I think one of my younger cousins mentioned having network access to upload assignments, review materials, and other stuff via phone. I can't imagine the security being as strict as OPs middle school days considering this kind of implementation. I haven't been keeping up with this stuff, but it still seems more user friendly.

I carried books everywhere and kept a mug and instant coffee powder in my locker.

Yeah, that's why Infinity Engine games frustrated us so much, sometimes. Our path-finding was a lot better, and we were pissed when a little dude on a screen couldn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ figure out how to move around another little dude on a screen, or like a chair, or something.

CS did not exist when I went to school. (It was back in 99 that CS copied AQ)
Thus the reason "obviously" no blocklist. since as you might understand now, it was long before that

It few years since I go to school but in Taiwan we did not have blocking for websites that I ever know about. It cause problem for some students because of bullying and bad materials.
