Dan Houser forgets that there is something as a target audience. If some people don't like GTA games, that doesn't mean others won't. The current audience for the games seems to be pretty numerous so... unless they make a radical change to the franchise, they'd at least retain the interest of the already present audience.
Yeah, you're right there....
Contrary to rumour and bias across social media etc. People are not becoming more sensitrive, there are not "more snowflakes" in the world and people are no more outraged than before.
All that has changed is that with the advent and acecssibility of internet/glaobal communication and social media providing more equal platforms for many - that the people who are outraged, sensitive or wish to show empathy or virtue signalist etc. are now granted an opportunity to do so.
Mainly it is done for influence, money and to be able to dictate your own opinion..
Most of the statements and values tried to be imposed also seems not just dumb but beyond the very point of gaming... (but there is not more of them, they can just better reach people now a days) and sadly people are sheeps

How will GTA 6 will be made to be fun but the same time not causing too much conterversy, it's a very deep and complicated topic.
I have heard that https://www.pedestrians-int.org/en/
Demands that pedestrians be immortal in GTA 6, they don't want all the violence towards them anymore and when you meet pedestrians you have to say hello and smile!!
We're in the year 2020. And there's more sensitive people here than you could possibly imagine. So ya, welcome to our world. Also, blame social media
From its inception and first game, the GTA brand has been built upon controversy. The media attention is free marketing and gets far more people talking about the product than any direct marketing stategy.
If Rockstar were so afraid of potential 'controversy' in their games, they would keep as quiet about the torture missions and hot coffee scenes as they do about the crunch conditions and work environments for their staff.
