Why is my personal info needed to download DaVinci Resolve?

Same reason as always. So they can bombard your email inbox with marketing adverts, share your info with their third-party partners and affiliate companies, and make the shareholders and investors happy by saying, “We currently have X number of active registered users, a X percent increase from last year!”

Marketing. It's good software with a free version, so they want to potentially make money on you
