I believe on average 9/10 gamers here on Steam are obviously male and it's most likely the same with PS4 and Xbox. I don't know about mobile games but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of women who play mobile/casual games.
With console games it's not surprising to see the trend of since a lot of these games are made to appeal men. This is kinda a dumb topic, I don't think it's unfair or anything like that. Most video games are meant for everyone. If a girl likes games she can always play Nintendo since they are known to have family friendly content. Sony also seems to stay away from controversial themes with their video games (ignoring TLOU2 leaks and some Quantic Dream titles). I've heard Sont has a very strict quality control and "fair" censorship so I don't think all games suffer from this stereotype.
