The term 'girl gamer'
I personally think the term girl gamer is kinda unnecessary. Gaming is all about teamwork and enjoying the game and nothing to do with gender, imo anyways. Most of my friends treat me the same way as their other friends, why make a point of our gender when we’re doing the exact same thing and a lot of the time we’re doing it at the same level, if not better?

Why does it matter? do you call "teen boys" for Boy gamers?
Personally, I find it a useless term. "Gamer" is usually used to describe a person that likes and plays video games, so I don't think we need a seperate term for girls that means the same thing. But, every girl I know that plays games doesn't call themselves a gamer girl. It seems like a word that's being meme'd and not used in a serious sense most of the time, so, meh.
I not worry so much about girl gamer term. I think perhaps have purpose before and help show that girls play video games also, not just boys.
If someone call me "Boy gamer" or "Gamer boy" I would not mind about it.
It's very normal, Your gender + Your things. This doesn't mean any disrespect.

For example:
I read book, friends call me "Book Boy".
I play soccer, teachers call me "Soccer Boy".
I'm a student union president, other students call me "Lackey Boy".

Pretty normal stuffs.
Gamer is like a belief system. They´re converting you. You do not have to accept the belief. But then you won´t be a gamer either. They will cast you out, like an heretic. :steamhappy:
(marketing made it up)

You know what? I´ll make them, whatever I want them to be. They will all be fishermen now. Solved!

Gaming is seen as a guy thing. So as a girl that games you are “different from the norm” apparently

And anything that’s different get’s a special term attached to it. So yeah

He was a gamer boy, she said see you later boy...

AND NOW I GOT THE SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD. And so do you, likely.
HE WASNT GOOD ENOUGHT FOR HER!
I haven't seen any girl refer to themselves as gamer girls unironically anyway
Its stupid, this whole topic...

Not really.

the term girl gamer is actually a form of gatekeeping on The gaming community. And it's completely pointless we are all gamers. Like someone said earlier you wouldn't say boy gamer. One of my best friends is a girl and she is pretty serious about gaming. I've never once called her a gamer girl. She's just a gamer.

So you hate terms like Actress instead of Actors and Firewoman into Fireman. I mean it's not offensive or anything- it's just gender neutral words. Gamer or Girl Gamer, it applies the same. I even wish there's a Boy Gamer thing.
How about gamer man?
