The Last Of Us 2: Controversy or Critical Acclaim? ( PS4 )

First of all, I loved the first game. I have the second one pre-ordered.

I skimmed You Tube ( briefly ) and apparently there was a leak, the game is a complete atrocity etc. BUT...it's the internet. Is this all noise or is there a real problem with the game? Are you planning on buying it on the June 19th?

They shouldn’t have made a sequel to the first one at least with neil druckmann as the main writer.They should have done a stand alone thing

Well thing is some stories just are not interesting regardless of how happy or unhappy or "bright" or "dark" it is.


Check out Prey (2017 or whatever)

We will see if we get anything better any time soon, but I imagine it will be a while before we can get other games with a story of this caliber or depth.

Well, there are likable villains. Sindri Myr from the first Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War, as well as the placeholder villain Eliphas the Inheritor (both are fan-favourites). They are ruthless psychopaths, even moreso than Abby, but Sindri and Eliphas are cunning schemers and have an agenda, that being daemonic ascension. Then there's (not from a video game, but he is the main character of the light novel series "Overlord") Ainz Ooal Gown. Ainz may be evil, but he also has a goal: the well-being of the residents of the Tomb of Nazarick. Once again, a greater purpose. Valkyria Chronicles: Selvaria Bless and Radi Jaeger. They serve Prince Maximilian each with their own purpose. I'd pay good money to play a spin-off VC game starring General Radi Jaeger.
And, of course, Kane from the Command & Conquer franchise (pretty self-explanatory).

And then you have Abby, who is just a sadist and a psychopath with no purpose or agenda other than killing Joel. And she didn't give him a swift, clean death. She relished his slow and painful death. There is nothing that defines her other than that. That's why all the other villains I mentioned are done better and can be liked.

Abby's character was not structured chronologically well. They needed more humanized development time, before she torture porn murdered Joel. Then they need to explain Abby's steroid look was that fact Joel was a legendary boogie man who killed masses of people.

The two times Abby could of killed Ellie and didn't needed better context. They need to show the duality of Abby's mental state. The sheer hate of the boogie man Joel, but also the understanding of robbing a daughter of her father. So many little simple things they could of done to make the characters and story both work.

Joel outing was lame and the ending was lame. So the setup and pay off didn't work for this game. If all Ellie has got is nothing then killing Abby is all she will have left. They maybe able to correct this crap show ending for a better pay off in TLOU3.

Shame they messed this one up. TLOU1 was ok in my book.

They are practically brainwashing people to despise Abby. I believe it is to set her up as the series villain.

Wish more people would just play whatever they liked, and did a bit of research on their target game. Reminds me of a few Death Stranding topics, in the Death Stranding forums. Some people love it, some hate it. It is what it is, regardless of those review numbers.

I think it's great that some enjoyment is had here, since that's what these games are supposed to be about, unless you're a competitive e-sports player.

At this point I'm hyped to see the plot twists that got people to hate the game so much.
Because at this point I'm having a very hard time imagining how they can spoil the game based on visuals, atmosphere, attention to detail and core gameplay loop
