The Last Of Us 2: Controversy or Critical Acclaim? ( PS4 )
First of all, I loved the first game. I have the second one pre-ordered.

I skimmed You Tube ( briefly ) and apparently there was a leak, the game is a complete atrocity etc. BUT...it's the internet. Is this all noise or is there a real problem with the game? Are you planning on buying it on the June 19th?

That said, the good reviews may have been there just to lick boots.

To lick the boots of the ♥♥♥♥ rights advocates.

We also never had the chance to see Joel during his dark phase. Right after his daughter died it skipped 20 or however many years. We missed a lot of terrible stuff that he did. We are seeing Ellie during those dark times.
He only kills when he has too it’s a different world but on the inside he is a good guy
On the inside we are all "good people", but perspective skews that. He did some terrible things while we were not playing as him and even admitted to it in the first game.

In TLOUS Ellie was not adult enough to make a suicidal choice on a dissection table. Any rational sane adult would have a duty of care not to offer up a child to be murdered for medical experimentation. Joel did the right thing saving Ellie and did the right thing not putting that adult burden of knowledge on a mere child.

The first game was pretty black and white when it came to a moral and ethical choice on Joel's part. They didn't even need to play the surrogate daughter route. Who would give a child up for dissection, because some random group says "oh it is all for the greater good BS".

If Ellie was an adult young women who made an adult choice to sacrifice herself in the TLOUS and Joel interfered in that process? Then the resentment by Eliie and Abby in TLOU2 would of made more sense. Joel protected a child not an adult in TLOUS.

Ellie was a stupid idiot to Joe in TLOU2. Abby is the villain, because her daddy was stopped from being a literal child murderer by Joel. I am fine with both Ellie youthful stupidity and Abby's blind fatherly love.

I am not fine with the fact the usually overtly cautious Joel doxed himself. More so when he knew he was being hunted by people. The same people who would willingly murder children on operating tables for experimentation.

The quality in writing took a drop off in the TLOU2 for sure.

Oh please..

Go watch at 3:40. It was ELLIE's own decision, even joel himself admitted it.

Regardless of that, somehow you could justify joels action to blow everyones head who gets in his way?

This is like telling the collateral damage USA has done to afghanistan is perfectly ok, because they just wanted to hunt the one whos responsible for 9/11.

The whole moral ambiguity has been the main reason why the first game was so highly praised, but here you are telling us the game is just a generic good guy vs bad guy cliche

Ha ha no grey and no moral ambiguity at all. TLOU is a story about a child and a adult. Not two adults doing adult things. Looks like I am having to go caps to get through to you.

So what if it was Ellie the CHILD who chose to be a CHILD SACRIFICE to science. I already covered that point in my previous comment. READ CAREFULLY. You don't put that "maybe save the world BS" knowledge and burden on a CHILD, because news flash they are a still CHILD. Ellie the CHILD can't make that ADULT choice, but Ellie the ADULT could at some point in the future.

Yes I can justify Joel killing any ADULT who made the ADULT choice to be part of murderous CHILD experimentation. Not exactly a jury and court system to put people away who would willingly murder CHILDREN for experimentation. Joel's logical reaction at the end makes logical sense in a world of that live or die nature.

The 9/11 response was a reaction to death of people who could not be saved. Ellie the wannabe sacrificial CHILD to science was not dead yet. Ellie the CHILD could still be saved by Joel the ADULT from murderous ADULT experimentation on a CHILD by other ADULTS.

Joel the ADULT had the ethical and moral high ground saving a CHILD and under the ruleless society made the logical choice to kill the CHILD murderous Fireflies in self defence for a CHILD'S life. As if one CHILD would be where the Fireflies even stopped in a ruleless lawless society. Like I commented before you didn't even need the surrogate daughter feels to make a choice to save and protect a CHILD from murderous ADULT experimentation on a CHILD.

You have some wonky logic and funny ideas about this game. TLOU was only 6/10 for me I don't even have a fanboy dog in this fight.

You must really love children.
I'm sure all the game is getting is critical acclaim at this point.

The Last of Us 2 has buried the franchise. It's tarnished Naughty Dog's rep and destroyed everything positive for the previous game. 7 years, people like myself have waited 7 years for the sequel and we got delivered this. The writing was terrible, Amy & Straley left ND for a reason. The story was ''leaked'' for a reason. I avoided every type of leak possible and I regret avoiding em. 2 hours into the game my hopes, motivation and everything I had going for the game swiftly departed.

There is only 1 LOU game, the second one doesn't exist for me. In my eyes it's a fan made game, nothing more.

This is not even about love and that is the point. I totally disregarded the Joel for Ellie fatherly feels in my last but one paragraph.

An adult transports a child and the child will be murdered for science and experimentation at then end of the destination. It is not a hard moral grey choice to stop that.

I feel you buddy and it’s getting even better later in the game because we have a 2nd protagonist and combined with the ending the game is completely garbage from a story standpoint

A child murdered for science and an adult murdered for science and experimentation and an elderly person being murdered for science and experimentation are all the same kind of horrible - otherwise, we would need to say that people of a certain age group are more expendable than people of other age groups.
Just got done playing the game I can confirm that this game is hands down the worst game of this year 2020. I was so mad after Joel’s death I hit the pride button aka I turned my ps4 off I was like what the Fu$&@ is that game?!?!

On top that, there were other red flags that raised questions to me. 70% of Naughty Dog's development team left for a "reason" which I'm sure it's not due to the "time crunch" work environment. Troy Baker also said something along the lines of keeping an "open mind" about TLOU 2. I look at the leaks when I first heard about it, and boy, I'm glad I saved $60. That leaker is a true hero.
IDK, the game seems like quite a gem to me so far. I just finished day 2 and I find it to be better than the first one so far. I love when my favorite character dies in a story. The more brutally they die the better. It makes the character even better when you know they are expendable (real). And the plot unfolds little by little and it all starts to make sense as it unfolds. There are still so many questions I have that I cant wait to hear the answers to.

Wait until you play the 2 protagonist that’s the point where you feel very uncomfortable

Playing as Ellie sucked in the first game. It didnt hurt my love for that game at all. Still a masterpiece.
