The original Last of Us still had moments of hope in a dystopian world that people of all creeds could relate to.
I haven’t played the second game, is the gameplay as fun as the first?
haha
good luck with part 2 is total garbage
Survivalist: Invisible Strain is also pretty good.
It's similar, but with better melee and smoother movements. Takedowns feel more raw and brutal. Occasionally, i could hear my enemy's last deep breath after i stab a knife on their chest.
Tlou2 is getting ME3 treatment where a few bad moments in the game spoils the overall quality of the game.
But TLOU 2 story and pacing pulled a Game of Thrones last season.
Some people didn't want to play the game after a cinematic, which basically makes you want to quit.
But everything else looks and feels good.
A good storyteller knows when to end a story.
Druckmann isn't a good storyteller.
There are multiple camps that dislike this game:
1. people who dislike politics in their games (they play to have fun)
2. people who dislike Joel's death
3. people who felt deceived by Naughty Dog (misleading trailers etc)
4. people who dislike being tokenized by Druckman
5. people who dislike ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay (TOLU2 being called a walking simulator, boring combat etc)
There's probably more.
Funny because ideological politics are usually used to create some form of conflict, especially in war and revolution games.
Honestly, the people who whined about politics in games are ones who wouldn't complain or even notice it if a game's political content or implication aligns with their opinion. I mean I play games for fun and to keep my mind off from the awful reality too but it's kind of ignorant to deny that games aren't political at times.
