Popular social games that feature voice chat?

Tower Unite was popular for about a month when it was featured in the humble monthly, but has since fizzled out. Something like that, or even a different genre of game? Basically looking for a nice game that a lot of people play in large groups that has voice chat. Can use it as a launching pad to go into other games on steam once I meet some like minded people. And just have some fun while chatting it up.

Left 4 Dead 2 does not feature large groups of players. I'm talking about something bigger, and more of a social game.

When I mean social, you can go in the game just to hang out and meet other games. Not actually forced to play any games. Something like Tower Unite, VRChat, etc... Though no virtual reality games, since I don't feel like hooking up my oculus rift right now :P

I wasn't aware many games still include native voice-chat. I thought everyone was expected to use a 3rd-party background program like Discord now.

Gmod Theater or multiplayer sandbox hangouts. Sometimes Unturned if the server is populated enough.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of games in the genre. VRChat and Rec Room are playable without VR though! There's games with lots of potential for socialization, but their focus is on something entirely different, like MMOs, battle royales, and

has matchmaking that puts players into groups of 9 people in 50 player teams and gives them strong encouragement to work together

edit- worth noting that Fortnite has hangout / chill servers too
