Thoughts on spicy food?

Lots of people love spicy food but how are you supposed to enjoy it the taste of it when your tongue constantly feels like its on fire?
How do you remedy the spiciness?

Well "spicy" can include just about anything, including garlic. When I hear "spicy", I think capsaicin.

That crap is just poison, as far as I'm concerned.

I'll just take nature's cue, and back off. That seems wise enough to me.

So my thoughts on "spicy" are that everyone lies, and I'll avoid anything with the word spicy in the description, on the assumption that they wouldn't have mentioned it if they weren't abusing it in the first place.

I actually have difficulty tasting flavors that don't have something spicy attached to them. And platinum is right. You should experience heat not fire. If it hurts you're not doing it right.

And I haven't met a spicy thing that I cant endure. Well I might buy a new hot sauce just check it out, I tend to make my own more often with a hot sauce base and then adding other ingredients. I make a bomb ass spicy orange chicken.

I've never actually heard of that. local butcher has like a wall hot sauces I'll see if he's got it there. Currently I have crushed chillies, jalapenos, Texas Pete's, Mike's red hot, sriracha, Louisiana style hot sauce. Sriracha is especially great in soup. And I love to dip my French fries in Louisiana style hot sauce. And I absolutely adore crushed chili paste for dipping.

I felt superbad for my dad one time because he picked up something that I I can rarely find call Wilbur's revenge. I was just sitting there dipping something and he grabbed one of the things and poured that sauce on it and ate it. I thought he was going to die

No. I hate it. And it sucks, because I live in a place where everyone loves spice. My family is huge on spice, and they see me as strange because I don't like spice. Everyone else here loves spice as well, which is annoying because every time I get McDonalds or something, they give chilli sauce rather than ketchup. KFC straight up only offers chilli sauce, and it really annoys me. I JUST WANT SOME KETCHUP DAMMIT

A little spice is ok but when it's so spicy you can't even taste it the food then what's the point?

Hot meals are good only when they are carefully cooked.
I hate those "challenging" foods, just putting tons of chilly pepper on something edible and calling it a day. Total disgrace for the ingredients.

Hmmm, thoughts on spicy food. I'm not really picky when it comes to food, I don't mind eating it. Ranch dressing or milk usually helps tone it down. Ate a few ghost chilli peppers without problems, when my cousins were harassing me (they were waiting for me to freak out), didn't really taste good by themselves though.

I'm remembering when my mother played a joke on me when I was kid, she handed me a large tablespoon full of something and said, "You have to try this, it's really good!". What I got a spoon full of was Wasabi. Wasn't expecting that~

it's ok but i don't like it too spicy.

maybe low-medium spicey but not high no no.

About as hard as i would go is Wasabi but that only burns for short period of time then it's over.
