this isn't even what its about wtf its about how over indulgences of the internet into yourlife to where you need to "download" love can ruin and isolate someone.
the internet literally destroyed social networks in Japan and people becoming neets living their lives for the whole internet to see has become more common then any era before it isnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
i grew up with periodic dialup access and the early internet dont project your childhood onto a general statement on isolation created by the internet its just gonna be wrong
Exactly. Shows like Lain (and also Evangelion, because I hate Evangelion and in particular I hate its meaning) are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ meant to give easy and hypocritical answers to situations much bigger than they can deal with.
Isolation? Lol, you think isolation is bad? lol, I grew up before early internet and believe me violence, nasty kids and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ parents who thought that making their children evil would have made them more succesful in life is much worse than any isolation you could think of.
No matter how many problems a technology can have, nature and real life are much worse.
You think japanese people suffer today because of isolation? I'm sure that they suffered of much worse things in the past, just like in every other part of the world.
yikes, mate, just appreciate good storytelling. it's not that deep/
literally trying to figure out what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your overblowing with barely any understanding here cause its a mess
news flash this isnt just effecting japan, isolation and rates of depression because of it are spiking across the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ world. just because you had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ childhood and got bullied doesnt mean you have to project it on every piece of media you consune
It's really compelling and fascinating when you're like 13 or 14, which I was when I first saw it, but as you get older it's more compelling for things like examining what happens when two black hats have a kid.
I don't think its ending is a rejection of technology so much as a rejection of all the interpretations of technology, and as a result the society which encourages those interpretations. Very edgy material, very dark.
EVA is a similar thing, but for mecha and physical transcendentalism.
I imagine they're both very annoying to hear about if they don't hook you, much like Haruhi or Madoka or any other popular-but-divisive series.
yeah i dont see that at all outside of the movie.
haruhi's divisiveness is mainly around season 2 being bad
When somebody project their own personal views and beliefs in the story they write it does mean that I can judge both their story and its meaning, and I am sure that many people in the world have had a childhood even worse than mine anyway.
If you really like to think that isolation is so bad it's just because you have not been exposed to something worse. News flash: in this world there is much worse, caused by nature, not caused by humans. You should thank technology built by humans for having been kept away from those things, not blame it because it can cause isolation.
News number 2: internet DOES NOT cause isolation. It only makes it easier. This means that people themselves seek isolation. And if that is true then you should ask yourself why so many people actively seek isolation. The real world is a really ugly place.
