High pitched squealing in left earcup of digital headset (Razer Kraken 2 7.1)
So for quite some time now I have noticed that there is some nearly inaudibly high squealing going on in my left ear when i use my pc headset. It´s plugged into a USB 2 port on my motherboard together with my muse, my keyboard and my wifi stick, which use USB 3 ports.
In some internet forum I read that one should plug the headset into a USB port that is away from the others, doing so helped me a littlebit.
It´s not a big problem that kills me, but it´s a littlebit annoying anyways (I am only able to hear it when I pay attention to it and when there is silence). I am rather concerned that it could damage my ears or cause mental damage (I know it sounds weird, but being exposed to a continouing squeal of sounds has driven people crazy oof).
If someone else had to deal with this before or is experienced or whatever, feel free to share your knowledge, I will appreciate it.

You should've posted this in Hardware & Operating systems.

Swap for the USB 3 port; keyboards really dont need USB 3, and the 2 vs 3 usually use different controllers so if the issue is with that it'll just go away and you can stick to using the 2's for very basic things. Keep the wifi stick on a 3.0 port though.

Also update all audio drivers for your motherboard and the chipset drivers.

I did that and nothing did really change, and I just updated my chipset driver, the audio driver is irrelevant bc the headset is digital

Sounds like it could have something to do with ground loop (electrical interference). I'm just spitballing here.

could you tell me more?

You want to try living with severe tinnitus, my ears constantly feel like theres a tornado inside my head or a broken tv with static or a combination of both. I've had it most of my life though so forgotten what hearing is like without it so I won't be going insane.

Do they have a 3.5mm connection as an option?

no

A USB to 3.5mm connector may be worth a try.

Ground loops occur when there is mixed interference in the AC coming from peripherals plugged into more than a single wall socket and then connected to each other with wires and is common in audio setups. I know about it with powered speakers as its something I had to work around in my home studio, Don't know if you can get the interference via a usb headset so you may just have a defective headset, but to confirm that I suggest you plug your entire pc setup (tower, monitor, etc) into a single power strip connected to a single wall socket. If you already do that then its unlikely to be a ground loop interference. I would suggest to try different usb sockets to see if you still get the humming, if you do you may want to get a replacement headset to test if that also has the issue.
