Is Mass Effect Andromeda worth playing?

After a couple failed attempts to get into the series, it finally has me locked in and I plan on completing the original trilogy through to the end.

I know Andromeda had a rocky start due to the lack of polish and it's widely regarded as not as good as the original trilogy, but is there still enjoyment to be had for fans of the series?

it's a fun game if you like 4x4 fun, it's story isn't the best,
but the gameplay\ combat is fun

if you ignore it's a mass effect game (which would be difficult)
then it can be a fun game, i guess it's worth around 10 euro's then you get your money worth

o yea lot of jumping and hopping around,something you must also really like
i always wonder the ♥♥♥♥ they add this into FPS shooters i never seen a squad or special forces apply jumping for charge tactics. this industry is **** it's no wonder anthem is so a massive failure

No idea, the series literally died for me with the ME3 ending.

As a person previously said, if you don't look at it like a Mass Effect game, it's a fun game. It was my first entry to the ME series, and I love it. I've actually finished the game twice before, and I can say that it's a pretty pleasurable experience. The modification and armor system is really fulfilling to me, and driving is honestly the best part of the game. The gunplay is decent, not the best, not the worst. There are a few guns which can definitely be considered broken, though.

The story, in my opinion, is pretty good. Overall, I would say the game is a 7/10. I don't know how much it is at any store, but it's not worth anything more than 30 bucks at the very max. Buy on sale if possible.

I never got into Mass Effect until Mass Effect Andromeda came out. Its well worth 20 bucks

Its not super bad its decent gameplay is the more redeeming aspect as its more active less hiding behind walls

As a standalone game with no ties to a franchise, it's a good enough game. As a game tied to the Mass Effect franchise, it's a massive disappointment. One thing that made the ME universe so good in the trilogy, was the lore and diversity of new things. This is almost completely void in Andromeda, there is very little that is actually new. It's a rehash and a sloppy one in that.

If you go into Andromeda without the experience of the trilogy, it'll be much more enjoyable than when you have the experience of the trilogy.

I had experianced the trilogy before i liked the bioms of andromeda as it felt like i could have a look around and yeah story had only a few good moments

Ill give you a real answer.

If you played ME1 to ME3 and lets say 90% them in terms of side missions. Did all the DLCs.

Then yea. MEA is worth checking out. Its more grindy and rpgish but its still fun. The story is left on a massive cliff hanger and has plotholes, there are very odd design choices in lore and aliens and such but overall id say it was worth exploring.

Easily THE worst in the series due to story and 'thats stupid' designs but the exploration, graphics, and quest were fun to complete.... be prepared to hate all of your squadmates though.....

I like Mass Effect Andromeda. It's an attempt at exploring new places, creating a new way of life while dealing with the Archon and his forces constantly putting pressure on the AI to pick up its game. Along the way the AI encounter a species called Angara and start to rebuild what was meant to be an opportunity only to have seen it end in failure. Several truths everyone knew them to be weren't truths at all, Jien Garson, Angara, The Archon, Roekaar and the Scourge are just a few to be named.

I've played the trilogy enough times before Andromeda and honestly it makes for a nice change of pace from the all too serious threat of the reapers. The pacing is deliberate, as are the worlds you head into as well. You can work to your own speed and take in as much as you like of the planets, missions and storyline.

The politics still exists, but you aren't always scrutinised for your efforts despite Addison trying to state otherwise or Taan trying to talk you to death. At least you don't have someone like Udina back your play only to stab you in the back because you were politically inconvenient to his ambitions to take a seat on the council.
