Is Mass Effect Andromeda worth playing?
After a couple failed attempts to get into the series, it finally has me locked in and I plan on completing the original trilogy through to the end.

I know Andromeda had a rocky start due to the lack of polish and it's widely regarded as not as good as the original trilogy, but is there still enjoyment to be had for fans of the series?

If you're a "I only care about gameplay" gamer, then yes, absolutely. Best gameplay of the series.
Honestly if I only cared about game play, I don't know if I could've made it through the first Mads Effect. Luckily the story was very compelling.

Me 1 was the only good mass effect

I think 2 was the best storywise, but I really liked the driving in 1 and the more customization options of weapons.

I had a huge problem with textures pop-ins and framerate stuttering. Two hours into ME2 and I haven't had those problems once.

My favourite to least favourite go in the order they came.

I am a massive fan of the entire franchise. Beaten the games multiple times, read the books, watched the movie. Andromeda has some issues but I like the story of the Pathfinder. And as much as I love Mass effect 2 I would have to say that Mass effect 3 is my favorite. The DLC is some of the best around. Leviathan and the citadel are some of my absolute favorites.

if you're into the franchise a
I recommend picking up Andromeda. At least for the experience.

If Mass Effect 2 doesn't have those problems on my 360 though, there's no excuse for the first game to have had those issues since the visuals in 2 are greatly improved.

Sadly no if you've played the past games. Like fallout 76 and metro exodus; the devs really dropped the ball hard to the point that the dev team was disbanded afterwards. So no more mass effect games anytime soon (seeing how they did it I'm honestly glad).

Also TLoU2 with the script and scene leaks is just god awful.

The dev team behind it weren't disbanded, they were simply reassigned within EA. Bioware studios they had in Canada and a few in the USA were shutdown and sold off. so the EA arm that is Bioware is now only half of what it was before that.

but let's look at it the previous 4 years leading up to that point, Bioware haven't done anything special since ME2, that was the last of their good efforts, since then their main focus was on Anthem (which has been seen as a failure to the outside, but in EA as a success) and what ever else went into SWTOR, which was virtually little considering the content and how far apart new releases of context were and still are.

Now their main focus is to get that dragon age game out and devoting what little they can into Anthem and SWTOR still with only half the resources they had before Andromeda.

Since Bioware is simply a name and a name only and EA were the ones creating ME3, MEA, Anthem and so on so they can do it again at some point. It could be they are just putting it off for a few years before coming back to it when there is interest for another, never say never on the issue.
