Because, although they have neat personalities, they fall flat in a lot of areas and end up saying stupid things or have very flat responses to things.
Like Veetra, they shove in your face what she is about for a long while, then dump it all and then you start getting very flat responses and then she seemed to contradict what she wanted to begin with.
Drack, started off strong, fell off when you get to the other krogans, came back up with comments about certain topics, fell off again when discussing things with the female krogan on the station.
Its one of those good on paper things, horrible executions for me.
My answer, if it costs $5, maybe. Highest I would go is $20 if I was a fan of the Mass Effect series.
I honestly don't understand how the original Mass Effect got such high scores in reviews. It's a great game story wise and because of the deep characters and meaningful choices, but it's issues definitely put it at like a 75 for me.
The Mako is probably the worst vehicle to ever inhabit a video game. While playing on my Xbox 360, everytime I would enter a new area it would take textures five or six seconds to pop in which ruins so much immersion for me especially when you enter dialogue with another character and they lack so much detail. The framerate would also dip pretty heavily in firefights.
It's a great game, but not even in the 80 range for me.
That's what happens when you try to multi-task I guess. Instead of one of the games being at least decent, both ended up pretty bad.
Well, story wise 1 & 2.
3 is Gears of War in the Mass Effect universe with an ending similar to Lost.
Admiral Anderson isn't Jack Shepard. (Dies)
Commander Shepard isn't Hugo Reyes. (Alive)
Catalyst isn't Benjamin Linus. (Not ethereal and very much alive)
Jack Harper/TIM isn't Desmond Hume. (Alive)
Not much similarity. and between them? the plug didn't need to be pulled at the center of the island but the action to stop the reapers there is little to no choice in.
Which ending was the bigger WTF? will never be solved. In both cases the writers had no ending so they just made up something that did not fit and went home. Sigh.
if you don't jump you missing out a large part of the game mechanics they have a smash skill that request a jump smash.
i guess the devs who made the game are the age of 12 who still think they are in apenheul being in the climbing racks and find it cool to jump around like a monkey.
same can be said about devs thinking wall running is cool, all i see is total nonsens and really gives me the impression some people with some serious disability made the game.
You really can absolutely ignore that.... its a mechanic put in the game for people that want that. Just like how adepts are the mages of the series you dont ever have to even touch them to get a full experience.
Hell all I did in MEA was use a sniper rifle that i customized to regen its ammo and hit like a truck....
So to insult the devs about a playstyle that can be absolutely avoided and calling them 12.... seems kinda childish to me.
Seriously, dont get discouraged by Abisha comments, get discouraged for other reasons explained in this thread but not that.
They are literally talking about a mechanic that is heavily focused for a certain playstyle like vanguards or vanguard adepts..... there are multiple other playstyles that have nothing to do with those mechanics what so ever.
Basically, its like complaining about mage abilities in skyrim and trying to sell it like its a big mechanic that if you dont use youre missing out on a large portion of the game.... you're not. Its just something that exist for people that want to play that way.
