Is the game overall worth it? Is it better then BFV?
If you want a more fleshed SP campaign and like Star Wars go for Battlefront 2. it has a way better SP Campaign and actual SP gamemodes (Solo Vs Bots) which Battlefield stopped having since Battlefield 3 (Reason why I've never paid more than $5 for any of the following BF games)
It's a hell lot better than the content Battlefield V has. Battlefield 1 is still populated as I just played it a while ago.
If you enjoy singleplayer FPS, then buy one of those proper singleplayer games such as Wolfenstein series ( except Youngblood), Far Cry series or the newer Doom games.
I highly recommend playing on Hardcore mode as players there show more restraint when it comes to throwing explosives and shooting as the only reliable way of figuring out if the person in front of you is an enemy or ally is by their uniform and team kill penalties stack up FAST.

I haven't played it for years so it may have changed since then, but I thought it was alright. It's the only Battlefield game I've played so I can't compare it to previous or subsequent titles, but I rarely play online games and BF1 is the only game that managed to get me playing its multiplayer for more than a couple of days before getting tired of it.
