I've watched that movie, but I don't remember much about it. Damn, this always happens to me. I have a short memory when it comes to movies/tv series, at least the ones I didn't like too much.

It looked like halo except the aliens are blue and don’t have armor. It was a decent movie basically similar to halo.

There was talk for years of a big budget Halo film but we will be getting a Showtime series instead.

Yes, but the way the blue people behaved and dressed reminded me most of native Americans. Their language also didn't sound African.
