Opinions on the AVGN?

I've been watching James Rolfe's/Angry video game nerd Youtube channel since around 2008ish and i love a lot of his content but in the last couple of years he seems burnt out.
I don't even think he has much interest in games anymore because if you watch him play any game other than the 3 NES games he played as a kid he doesn't know what he's doing.
A lot of his channel is videos starring his unfunny friends and James looks half asleep some of the time.
It's a real shame to see one of the OG gaming Youtubers look like they'd rather be doing anything else.

He's one of the few youtubers that managed to stay true to his roots without feeling outdated (And thats quite impressive considering how long he's been in the business)

The rest of the videos in the channel are quite solid too imho (I personally prefer more when is just James talking in front of the camera about old movies or things he like instead of following certain script like in Rental Review but hey...)

He's great. But he does tend to aim for low hanging fruit. He seems to only fixate on the wokest nonsense as of late. He says he won't wade any further into the hot mess that is Picard or Dr. Who. If that's true it's probably a wise move.

I used to watch his content way back when he first started out, but I just grew out of it over time.

Lol the Irate Gamer. I actually started watching him before AVGN before I realized he was just a ripoff.

He's a parent now, and that alone takes it's own toll all together. So of course he is going to look tired. He does the other types of reviews with his friends because they are easier to make, and allows him to still release some kind of content on the channel while he juggles taking care of his kids. So his time to research games for AVGN has become very limited. Remember he is an indie film maker, and what free time he has outside of these things gets devoted to his indie projects.

As for his friends most of them are okay, when they aren't trying to talk over each other. That is something they really need to be worked on. However; the one person that I can't stand at all is Ryan. That guy is just annoying as all heck to the point that I avoid any videos he shows up in.
