I've been watching James Rolfe's/Angry video game nerd Youtube channel since around 2008ish and i love a lot of his content but in the last couple of years he seems burnt out.
I don't even think he has much interest in games anymore because if you watch him play any game other than the 3 NES games he played as a kid he doesn't know what he's doing.
A lot of his channel is videos starring his unfunny friends and James looks half asleep some of the time.
It's a real shame to see one of the OG gaming Youtubers look like they'd rather be doing anything else.

I started watching him back in the JamesNintendoNerd days and I enjoyed his content a lot. I still go back sometimes and watch the AVGN episodes in binge fashion but at a certain point he began to fall off for me too.

I've noticed this too. I still like the most recent Nerd videos but he does look like he needs a break when you see him in the other stuff.

Well, if he wants to do something else, then he needs to make that decision himself. It's up to him whether he keeps burning himself out, or not.

The era of the bombastic review is finally coming to an end. It's been dying for a while now, and the only one that I know that still really does the same over the top production is angry Joe.

His attitude towards it is completely different now, but that's going to happen with anybody who's been doing the same thing for so long.

Does seem to be the way things are going.
Nowadays i prefer the more in depth essay type reviews made by people like Raycevick, Grim Beard and Mandalore.

His burning out probably came after the Home Alone holiday special with Macaulay Culkin. Seems like he has dug into most of the terrible games he was passionate about hating.
