Instead of creating new ideas / stories, the developers pick an old title which they already did business with and made their share of profits. Now selling it again for $60. Resident Evil series for example. Also Final Fantasy Xii $50. And many others.
Yup, exactly, & to think, eventually people will catch on...
oh, ff7 got a remake?
well well just pass on ff8 remastered,
& wait for ff8 remake instead...
Things like that will start happening...
Remakes however, I would prefer them to make a new game, especially if they put in the kind of effort that the remake for Final Fantasy 7 has.
But at the same time, I can acknowledge that might be just the old mindset in me talking. Having something familiar go in different direction, can be a way to make a game expand that wouldn't have been possible originally. Or to fix game mechanics that have not aged too well.
If you haven't found somethingto engage you in gaming you probably haven't looked hard enough.
And also bruh i should read dates first before posting.
The reason Capcom isn't doing new games is because those require more risk, it requires more writers, more character artists, more everything. RE4 exists for no other reason than because it was cheap, easy, and could be done with a smaller budget.
Nobody really wants to innovate anymore and risk losing money on a bad game. Once y'all stop buying the remakes thinking that if you show support for these companies now they'll make what you want, then they might actually stop with the remakes and make what you want.
yeah but i like capcom's remakes. except re3. good game but lack of content. better play re2 or skip and play re4, both original and remake
The cost of making games rising, less people would take the risk.
The market make it this way.
