Why does UPS have such stupid delivery routes?
Why does UPS have such stupid delivery routes? If you ever track the "follow my delivery" thing they offer now, it goes in absolutely no logical order and often goes extremely long distances away from some areas then back to an area it was in before, repeat... I'm taking like five ten miles... If they're so concerned about the cost of business with gas, pay, etc why would they make routes so inefficient and illogical? Are they honestly loading trucks at random and not pre-planned routes like the postal service?

I'm convinced the tracker is fake.It makes no sense.. You are 8 deliveries away.. They go right by your house 7 times..

Yeah it makes no sense... at all. It also when they go by says IN YOUR AREA as if you're getting your package soon but then it shows up like hours later after being everywhere else...

They had this thing where it is more efficient to take more right turns.

I've never liked UPS, Fedex used to be better now it's about as bad, and the USPS keeps demanding bail outs to raise the cost of postage and shipping packages yet their service gets more inefficient and their systems less logical... I've had more mail and packages lost with USPS than any other service and they will always make an excuse to not deliver packages because their unions are so powerful that I've literally been told at local offices that if an employee straight up doesn't want to do their job, they pretty much can't do anything about it

they only turn right so i read it's more effective and time saving

I used to say DHL is the only shipment company I disliked. Then I started getting packages through USPS - much as I hate DHL, only USPS makes me wish I could pay to see them go extinct, and I'll ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheer if that happens as certain people claim.

Just recently I had a webcam ordered from China, and it went from the original storage facility to China, then to Los Angeles. All within 6 days and got past clearance & customs inspection the day thereafter, so I thought it'd be here by the 10th day. But no, it's been sitting at the airport in LA waiting for the USPS to pick it up for fourteen ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ days now, and only now getting domestically shipped.

I had a package from England get 'lost' after going through customs with USPS for over 6 months, USPS "did an investigation" (they literally usually just track it and shrug,) said it was lost and that was that. It was a fairly expensive piece of art too. RandomIy showed up got lucky that time.

That doesn't surprise me. Not in the least.

If you do some online searching about lost packages, you will also find certain areas packages go "missing" more often than not, sometimes at extremely high percentages. It's pretty obvious it's theft at times, but they could care less. It doesn't help that international packages state what is inside and it's value either.

Yeah that happens when the Republicans force you to fund the retirement of every employee for the next 75 years right now. The USPS was an efficient money maker until that little bit of helpful legislation.

They just hate that no one is making $$ off the post office, they'd prefer you used UPS or FedEx to get those shareholders paid.

I'm not sure what you're saying but insurance be it USPS, Fedex, or UPS is a waste of money as they will virtually never pay it out regardless of circumstances. I've had USPS admit fault and still not pay out before.

The delivery routes are planned with high-priority and most likely businesses first in mind. Calculating in time of each stop. A company complaining they didn't get their order of something required for the day is much more important than a resident complaining about not getting their new shoes till the following few days. Yet for a company, you have to go up and get them to sign for it, but more likely be there compared to a resident who might be out at certain times if needing to sign as well.

So it's allocated within the time frame of 8-9 hours per day, then it's just if there's time left to go back and drop off the rest.

They really should drop off packages to certain areas and then have someone working in just those smaller areas to delivery out upon. However, I guess that would take separation of company vs resident delivery, as well as a rescan to keep track of where each item goes.

At least it's better than one delivery driver here, who just dumped all the packages out for delivery on the side of a road during the Corona lock down level 4 and got fired the next day for it. Lucky a citizen noticed all the packages and reported it in, every single item still accounted for and wasn't stolen.
