will steam ever do free games ?

steam never does free games. I think it would boost their business a lot if they did and im not sure why.

epic games does and they have very good business. I think steam could learn a thing or two from epic games and give out free games.

Ask the publishers, they set the prices. Valve doesn't give away games not made or published by themselves.

First of all its the publishers decision to give away a game for free and not Steam's (Valve's) decision and second there are free full price games once in a while... last one i remember was https://store.steampowered.com/app/201270/Total_War_SHOGUN_2/
