Is Steam remote play safe?
I want to play some games online which don't have online multiplayer as standard but are compatible with remote play such as Lego Marvel super heroes.
How exactly does it work and is it safe?

I'm guessing you meant to write remote play together. Yes it's safe.

It works by streaming your monitor to their monitors, while their shared inputs, whether that be m+kb or a controller, is streamed to your pc. It's not like team viewer where you give people full control. People can only control stuff as long as you are in game. If you are the host and you tab out or open the overlay, whoever you're playing with is being completely paused.

Whoever hosts the remote lobby also has the ability to start and stop sharing of different input devices to the other players which is a great way to stop people from trolling.

I just wasn't sure how it worked, for some reason i thought there might be a way for people to gain access to my computer. There's a lot of dodgy people online and trolls.
That's cool thanks.

Hey, it's a fair concern, but I can assure you there's nothing to worry about. I can't guarantee no trolls, but I'm sure you'll be able to find someone who is just as interested in playing through the game as you are. You can create a topic on the game's forum or check if someone else already did.

Need to disagree, while remote streaming, I found that I could open the start menu and other apps, giving my 2nd computer full access the computer I was streaming from.

but. if you suddenly alt+f4 on a game or ctrl+shft+esc to sign out; do you think it would be a fast enough prevention? I would assume not. I don't mind greifing of a gameplay session or trolling ingame. however, I suppose they would not open my start menu or control panel without me seeing at the moment of playing.
