There was AVGN's old competitor, Irate Gamer, but I don't think he posts much anymore and/or he's not as irate as he used to be, just like AVGN isn't as angry as he once was on camera.
Still, you could look at Irate Gamer's old vids and see if he's to your liking.
Other than that, I don't know who all is popular...unless...
well...
I guess you can always subscribe to... PewDiePie
Also James Rolfe seems to have lost the passion for gaming, i don't think he even plays games as a hobby anymore. Watch him on James and Mike Mondays, if he plays anything which isn't an NES game he button mashes like he's never played any games before.
Rerez.
He has a similar style where he gets angry at ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games and consoles. But without cringy skits.

I saw the First AVGN video long ago, someone at the old 3DREALMS video posted a link to it when youtube was newer. Back when Youtube was so low resolution it was all blocky and buffer delayed. :D
Anyway, my reaction was something like.. "This sucks, what a dork.. this is over the top and just lame."
But as someone pointed out it was a parody of the 70's-80's gamer stereotypes.
AVGN is Classic, Chris Neo was a good contender too.
I'd say AVGN is as established as any other well known low budget TV show throughout media history.
