Minecraft cpu at 100%
I have an rtx 2080ti with an i5-8400. Recently 50% of the times i open minecraft and i look at my msi afterburner overaly it say that cpu 1 to cpu 6 is at 0 to 3% usage but cpu 7 and cpu 8 is at 100% and the game feels very laggy. help is appricated. And to temporarily fix this problem i had to restart my computer and open the game again and hope for a 1/2 chance to this bug to not happen

Sounds about right, yep. Java version of Minecraft is much more resource intensive than the Windows 10 version which is pretty much the mobile port made to PC. Are you using any mods or is it plane Jane vanilla?
Using like 23 mods

Java by default caps the max amount of memory allowed and will probably just use a single core of the CPU to run itself upon.

You can increase the memory, by adding the Java (JVM) Arguments:

-Xmx14336 -Xms2048

The parameter -Xmx is the maximum amount of RAM allocated to the game in MB. So if you have more than 8GB of RAM you could increase the amount even higher. Just ensure to leave some of the RAM available for the rest of the system to run (Windows itself needs 2GB min).

-Xmx14336 would be 14GB of RAM (ideal if you had 16GB)

The parameter -Xms is the initial minimum, an optimal 2GB is fine.

If still no luck with a performance boost, then next with be looking for a multi-core mod or disabling some of those mods which take up too much load.

He never stated it was a Steam issue.
Then why post it in the Steam forum? Especially in the section for help and tips for issues or questions about the Steam client and Steam services.
Post in the Minecraft forum.

He not wrong, the help, and tips for Steam service, and client, but again this game not on Steam, and also it would be better posting in the game own forum.
Well, my theory is: they mine virtual currency with your computers while you are playing this, the name alone says it "Minecrafting" hahaha *TinFoilHat glows*

Which version of Minecraft is it? Java or Windows 10 (C++) version? It sounds like it's Java.

Big OOF right there OP! You should have stated you were using that many mods to begin with!!

How much RAM do you have? Actually you never stated that either.
